En la jerga del fútbol, se dice de un portero que falla en detener el balón al despistarse e ir en otra dirección y no estar atento a cumplir con su función. Similar a cuando se habla de "una cantada del portero" lo que equivale a un fallo garrafal del antedicho guardameta.
