There are many bad translators out there - online and the handheld variety. I even saw one of my students using a pen-type translator. Of course, I will know if a student submits a paper with pristine Spanish; in my nearly 14 years, I've encountered only two such students. Anyway, I am really trying to encourage and promote the use of bilingual dictionaries in and out of the classroom. If a student, however, needs to check individual words, then, that is not a problem.
