La Tomatina

In case my previous reasons to visit Spain weren’t enough, the annual insanity of La Tomatina should be the clincher. This food fight takes place on the last Wednesday of August in Buñol, Valencia, where the small town’s population quadruples and 40,000 people hurl overripe tomatoes at each other until the streets literally fill with tomato stew. The battle is limited to one hour, which is long enough to do away with several truckloads (110 metric tons) of tomatoes. Local businesses and homeowners try to mitigate cleanup time by covering storefronts and homes with plastic sheeting before the event.

The homepage for the blog is just all white and I can’t get out of it. But when I read a blog post it looks normal. What am I doing wrong?

Oh, I remember this! I did a little project about it for my Spanish class once. That’s one of the events I definitely want to participate in sometime; it looks like so much fun! Great photos, too. I wonder if anyone eats the tomatoes after getting hit in the face by them. :)

By the way, I tagged you to post eight random things about yourself. I know it would be off topic for your blog, so you could always write about eight random Spanish-related things. :) I look forward to reading it if you decide to write it!

@Hey, I’ll look into it. Off the top of my head, it might be a plugin I have that creates a ‘mobile’ version of the blog for phones and other mobile devices.

@LearningNerd In some cases you might not be able to avoid eating some tomato that hits you :) And thanks for the tag, I’ll have to think about how I can make an on-topic post and respond to the tagging at the same time.
